ALL ABOUT COMMUNITY
A career in a vocational field served as the cornerstone when choosing four deserving high school seniors to award this year’s first round of the Jose Gonzalez Saldana Scholarships. Abe Gonzalez, Founder and CEO of Quantum Building & Services, says he established the scholarship in his father’s name to represent the characteristics that defined the man who not only served as his role model and mentor, but his loving father. This is the second year Quantum Building and Services distributes scholarships to deserving high school seniors.
In an effort to bring their 1,300 members together in a more adequate space, a milestone was reached. The National Border Patrol Council, local chapter 2455, broke ground on what will be their new Union Hall. The 6400 square foot building will serve as a meeting place for the members who make up the Laredo sector, a membership that has significantly grown over the last few years. “So in the past 10 years, we’ve seen a significant increase, up to the point where we have a 97 to 98 percent rate in the Laredo sector over the National Border Patrol Council that’s at 90 percent, but in Laredo voluntary rate and that’s significant.” The new Border Patrol Union Building is located at 6422 Sinatra Parkway, and is being constructed by Quantum Building and Services. It will include a large gathering area, offices, a conference room and an outdoor area, and should be ready by early 2022.
Quantum Building and Services of Laredo was proud to reward Nixon High School seniors with an academic scholarship of $500 each for their hard work and dedication during the 2020-2021 school year. It is our privilege to be able to give back to the Laredo community—especially when it comes to providing access to higher education for our Laredo students, who have persevered through a national pandemic that forced them to study on their own. We salute all the graduating classes of 2021.
It is always our pleasure to reward Laredo high school seniors who have shown perseverance and dedication to their studies—especially during the challenging time of the national pandemic. We are proud to have presented seniors from Martin High School in Laredo with a $500 scholarship each to go to the University of their choice. Our goal at the end of each year is to find students who have shown grit and dedication to their studies and to provide them with access to higher education so that one day they will return to Laredo to apply their skills to our growing Laredo community. Congratulations!
“Selecting Quantum Building Services was one of the best decisions we made when planning the expansion of Laredo Sports Medicine Clinic. Our plans for the medical facility were extensive in that we were expanding the scope of work to include a connected rehabilitation center. From day one, Quantum listened to what we wanted, always suggesting cost-saving recommendations and safety measures to ensure our facility remained on budget, on time, and would pass all Joint Commission standards required to safely open for our patients. I am so thrilled with the final product and the compliments we receive from patients attest to the quality of our building."
